Fibrotex Awarded Contract to Supply Camouflage Systems to a NATO Country Operating in Afghanistan

Order will provide multi-spectral personal concealment to Special Operations Forces fighting in Afghanistan

10:38 GMT, July 29, 2010 Israel | Fibrotex Technologies, a global industry leader in camouflage, concealment, and deception solutions, has been awarded a contract to supply its Personal Camouflage Screens (PCS) for deployment with the Special Operations Forces of a NATO country in Afghanistan. The contract award is for a three year period as part of a multi-year equipping program and is a repeat order from this customer. With this contract, the customer will be deploying a large number of camouflage systems which are of the same type it has deployed previously. The previous systems however were for a dual forest/desert terrain concealment while this order will complete the package with a dual fresh-snow/’dirty’-snow terrain camouflage patterns.

“Our Personal Camouflage Screens are unique in their ability to provide concealment to soldiers operating in a variety of terrains and combat environments, within mere seconds.” Says Adi Blum, Fibrotex’ CEO. He goes on to say “This capability significantly increases the soldiers' survivability. Fibrotex continues to receive repeat orders for this product from numerous customers and this provides the ultimate testimony to our product’s performance. PCS is yet another example of a Fibrotex product making a real difference by saving lives on the battlefield.”

Easy to deploy and to carry, the camouflage screens that Fibrotex has been supplying to Special Forces operating in Afghanistan answer the challenging requirement for rapid concealment in changing terrain conditions such as fresh or melting snow as addressed with this latest order. Camouflage and concealment with the use of personal screens provides the type of solution needed in the field by virtue of the screen’s multi spectral properties. This means camouflage within the UV range, visual concealment from the naked eye or binoculars, and thermal camouflage (against the use of thermal imaging devices and thermal sensors). The result is increased survivability for Special Forces operating in hostile environments.

Fibrotex Personal Camouflage Screen (PCS) is a lightweight, low volume, two- dimensional multispectral camouflage net featuring a varied and different print pattern on each side. This enables one net to provide concealment response to two different geographical areas thus increasing both operational/logistic as well as economic efficiencies. The screen’s two dimensional one layer structure affords a low storage volume, and with its light weight PCS is easy to carry while providing exceptional visibility from inside.

HyperStealth FADESPAT

June 28th, 2011

We are very excited to finally be able to tell you about HyperStealth’s FADESPAT™. FADESPAT™ stands for Field Applied Digital Environment Specific Patterns and is a Rapid Deployment Camouflage System which has been in use by specialized customers for almost 18 months.

Developed following a user requirement in January of 2010 by Guy Cramer, FADESPAT™ allows the operator to customize the camouflage for his equipment based on the operating environment. Due to the sensitive nature of the technology, HyoerStealth will only disclose the exact technology to authorized clients. However, Guy Cramer assures us that the process is simple stating, “when you ask someone to do a new task in the field without supervision, the learning curve has to be kept to an absolute minimum.”

Recently, HyperStealth upscaled the technology, making it appropriate for vehicular use as well.

FADESPAT™ is considered a companion product to the GHOSTEX technology instituted as a joint venture with ADS Inc last year. While FADESPAT™ is great for on-the-fly customization of existing clothing and equipment, GHOSTEX™ relies on a more deliberate process that uses environmental factors to determine the best camouflage pattern for an area of operations. GHOSTEX™ results in purpose built uniforms printed specifically for the operations. Despite the requirement for printing, it doesn’t seem to slow them down. According to a release from HyperStealth, “Ghostex is currently printing 400-500 yards per month, this capacity will double in September/October and expected to quadruple in 2012 at a second location with more machines. 21 different patterns have been printed on these machines to date. Cramer has developed close to 10,000 patterns under worldwide copyright. Recently the speed of the Ghostex process was confirmed when an urgent request for 480 inches x 62 inches wide of four different camouflage prints on military specification fabric came in at 10 AM and by 2 PM the material was out the door arriving at 8 AM the next business day in Virginia Beach.”

Hopefully we will see more of these programs at Warrior Expo East.

IMINT: Exotic Camo Scheme spotted on SOF Pickup

by Jack Murphy on August 21, 2011

"Somebody" has been spruiking this idea heavily for the last few weeks and as some corroespondents note, there is always the suspicion some of these are photo-shops..............the technology os old hat now butI'd be more interested in how long it survives a real-life situation over a year or two...............

Even I have to admit that this picture has a kind of ether-real quality to it that makes it look photoshopped despite being assured that it is the real deal. Here we see a bizarre looking digital camo scheme that incorporates some type of 3-D disruption element into it. In the past we used to call these modified pick up trucks Non-Standard Tactical Vehicles, or NSTV’s but I believe current lingo preferred in the TOC is ITV. Also in this picture we can see another sheet of camouflage hanging on the wall showing off a color scheme that looks like it would be better suited for temperate environments. We are still trying to source the origin of these pictures and who is behind this very exotic look camo pattern so give us the gouge is you think you can fill in some of the blanks.
