Keep your responses at least borderline polite! :violent

Defence Minister Senator John Faulkner today announced a review into the Defence’s RODUM or Report on Defective or Unsatisfactory Materiel regime.

The four month review will be conducted by Mr Jeff Whalan, a former CEO of Centrelink and Medicare.

The review will assess:

--The ease, use and responsiveness of the current reporting system for the individual ADF member and his or her chain of command, and the feedback arrangements following RODUM reports; and

--Whether the current reporting system provides adequate and timely advice to higher ADF command and senior Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) Management on reported defects.

Senator Faulkner welcomed Mr Whalan’s appointment.

“We have to ensure that claims about defective equipment made by ADF personnel are properly dealt with.

“Mr Whalan will make recommendations on how effective the system is for reporting defects, with a focus on RODUMS,” Senator Faulkner said.

First thing that should be done is that EVERY RODUM should be investigated.

What is currently done is this. If a number of RODUM's are received about a particular piece of equipment, they are treated as one. What is a reasonable number you might ask? How about 70? All from the same unit, all correctly submitted, but then lumped together and considered as one...

So when ADF says they've only received 'one' RODUM, it makes one wonder e actly what definition they are using...

This however should be the first 'practice' that is reviewed...

It shouldn't take four months to conduct this review. About four hours should be enough.

WHY would you think the former CEO of Centerlink and Medicare understands doodly shit about the process or it's abuse?

Oh the irony - the RODUM has been RODUM'd
