New Elisra Man-Packed EJAB Displayed at Satory 2010

Elisra of Israel has developed the EJAB (Electronic Jamming Against Bomb) family and will be showcasing its new Man-Packed version at Eurosatory 2010. The EJAB Man-Packed system was specially designed for tactical troops and bomb disposal squads against the threat of remote-controlled improvised explosive devices (RCIED).

The EJAB has multi-band jammer capability built into a rugged backpack. It is able to simultaneously jam two separate frequencies, using a single light-weight antennae, virtually blocking all types of radio and cellular bands. Battery operated, the 15kg system supplies continuous function for three hours, then allows battery "hot-swap".

The EJAB family of electronic jammers was designed by Elisra, subsidiary of Elbit Systems, to disrupt and deny remote activation of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). EJAB jammers comprise various modules covering a wide frequency band from VHF to UHF and high cellular bandwidths, dealing with all types of remote-controlled applications from simple RC transmitters to the most sophisticated cellular phones and wireless devices. These jammers operate as stand-alone systems, and have proved themselves through years of combat operations in Lebanon and the current conflict in Gaza and the West Bank, where they have successfully protected combat vehicles, convoys, and fixed facilities as well as protection of EOD teams and isolation of terrorist attack scenes. The system is available in mobile (vehicular) and portable (suitcase) configurations for the isolation of EOD scenes.
